The Client
GulfStream Bioinformatics (formerly Ardais Corporation) is a clinical genome company engaged in biomedical research. Their BIGR (Biomaterials and Information for Genomic Research) application suite is a solution that supports the storing, tracking, and retrieval of information on patient tissue samples, including medical history and demographic data.
The Challenge
As a venture-funded company, Ardais sought to keep their product development costs to a minimum. Their manual testing was taking three weeks and required five QA engineers. Choosing to follow an automated testing strategy, the company brought in outside firms to implement an automated testing solution. Those efforts failed, producing no results and costing the company thousands of dollars. That’s when they called qaSignature. Naturally, Ardais was still skeptical that the project would meet expectations.
The qaOptimization® Solution
qaSignature developed and built a test infrastructure, testware, reporting tools, and a 24-hour regression test suite that eliminated the need for manual testing.
The Results
- Development team productivity increased by more than 600%
- The project’s success influenced the decision to package their product for general release
