Symantec is a global leader in information security, providing a broad range of software, appliances, and services designed to help individuals, small and mid-sized businesses, and large enterprises secure and manage their IT infrastructure. Symantec’s Norton brand of products is the worldwide leader in consumer security and problem-solving solutions.

The Challenge
Symantec has a complex, distributed system that installs software over the Internet. Validation and monitoring is required on all of the systems. Because Symantec could not hire full-time staff for testing and had no means of building test repeatability with their existing staff, they chose qaSignature to provide a testing solution.

The qaOptimization^® Solution
qaSignature developed tests for installation, smoke, and functionality regression with 24x7 optimized test runs. An executive dashboard provided customized reporting and resource monitoring.

The Results

Upon completion of the project, Symantec tested two builds in 8 hours—a process that would have consumed six weeks with manual testing
More important, the solution enabled Symantec to release their Enterprise Manager product on time.
