qaSignature and Tiger's Lair Announce Partnership to Create Advanced Testing Platform for Android-based Applications

Joint Solution Provides Faster Testing, Better Test Coverage and Rapid Debugging.

Newton, MA June 27, 2011

qaSignature, Inc., a leader in SaaS-based quality assurance (QA) solutions for software developers, and Tiger's Lair, makers of advanced testing solutions for Android-based devices, announced today that the two companies will jointly market their solutions to provide more powerful testing services for Android application developers. The joint solution combines qaSignature's hosted qaOptimization® solution with Tiger's Lair's Android Device Test Platform (ADTP) to deliver faster, deeper and more reliable testing of mission-critical Android applications.

The rapid growth of smartphone users and mobile application developers creates the need for a new approach to QA testing beyond traditional software-based automation methods. The joint qaSignature - Tiger's Lair solution addresses that need by combining two novel and progressive technologies-unlimited, hosted regression testing and instrument-based Android testing-into a more powerful, end-to-end QA solution for Android app developers.
The jointly delivered solution features the following key components:

  • The ADTP solution from Tiger's Lair, featuring instrument-based testing that delivers deep, real-time visibility into Android hardware resources during testing, including the processor, host bus, memory, communications peripherals and sensors
  • qaOptimization from qaSignature, a SaaS-based solution with unique intelligence that accelerates and optimizes QA testing-delivering unlimited regression testing results in less than 24 hours
  • Professional services and support from qaSignature and Tiger's Lair as needed

"This partnership with Tiger's Lair will enable Android app developers to release more stable, robust products in less time", said Vlad Shamis, CEO of qaSignature. "We're very excited about the ADTP technology and the rich level of testing information it can provide. It's a natural fit for the ultra-high processing capabilities of the qaOptimization platform, and we expect that Android developers will see immediate benefits both in improved bug detection and reduced time-to-market with this joint solution."

The ADTP solution provides an advantage over traditional, software-based testing platforms by enabling testing engineers to replicate and measure complex, corner-case scenarios caused by unanticipated input data, conflicts between applications and services and unexpected hardware states on Android devices. The additional hardware-level information extracted by the ADTP solution, combined with the full regression test results of the qaOptimization platform, provide rich and actionable insight for QA engineers to quickly and accurately perform debugging.

"When you consider the pace with which mission-critical applications are being ported to mobile devices, there are tremendous opportunities as well as tremendous risks", said Shawn Mastrian, CEO of Tiger's Lair. "Enterprise applications especially require a level of quality and reliability that is very difficult and expensive to achieve without effective system test tools. The goal of our partnership with qaSignature today is to provide rigorous, repeatable, robust and low-cost testing solutions that empower enterprises and government agencies to innovate without fear."
