No one has to die, if we QA your software!
I was scanning Boston.com and bumped into the following article:
"One killed, 10 injured on Thunder Mountain ride at Disneyland"
By Chelsea J. Carter, Associated Press, 9/5/2003 22:42
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) An accident on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster Friday left a 22-year-old man dead and 10 other riders injured, officials said.
The attraction, which opened in 1979, can carry as many as 32 people. The ride is computer-controlled, and the operator does not ride aboard the train.
Scary if you come to think of it!
Talking about QUALITY ASSURANCE!
Some clients at first tell us that our QA methodology is too rugged, that we QA the software, as if someone's life depends on it. We often hear the words "this is not a realistic scenario; nobody is going to use the app for 24/7". We often see serious architectural problems being deferred. But now you tell me, how much is exactly enough when you are testing Thunder Mountain ride at Disney? Is one run through the controlling software enough, or maybe two, or three? OK, OK, four! But how can you ensure that it will not malfunction on the fifth run putting in danger lives of the 32 passengers? Usually all our clients learn after only few weeks of working with us that if we put our signature on their product, it still may contain bugs, but it will work today the same way as it did yesterday, and 10 years from now! We assure that the application under test is stable, reliable and does not degrade over time and heavy usage!
Interesting Fact: The computerized Real Time control system that our Chief Architect designed more than 20 years ago still successfully does what it's supposed to do - control!
Our news: Guardent and ON Technology are two new clients that will start adopting our methodology this month.
